What is wilderness? Is it our paradise lost, our shangri la, the place we are trying to hold tight because that’s where we stash our innocence, purity and naivety? As we are heading into a key 50th anniversary of the official definition of wilderness, I’ll be taking a look in at what it means today… and whether it matters for tomorrow. And I’ll also try to figure out why the least-likely Canadian province is the only one with an official definition of wilderness.
